The Severn Trent Water Charitable Trust Fund

The Trust funds projects under three themes: People, Place and Environment. People-focused projects include skills training, advice services, and initiatives that support community wellbeing. Place-focused projects improve community facilities and public spaces. Environment-focused projects enhance the natural environment, with a particular favourability towards water-related initiatives such as water efficiency, sustainable drainage, and access to blue spaces. All projects must be located in the Severn Trent region and benefit Severn Trent customers.

The Trust funds volunteer and community groups, organisations registered with the Charity Commission, organisations registered with Companies House that are limited by guarantee, local authority or parish councils, and foundation schools. It does not fund individuals or any organisation that is legally able to make a profit, such as limited liability partnerships, limited companies, or sole traders. Beneficiaries must be communities and individuals within the Severn Trent water region.

The Trust does not fund retrospective costs, bank charges, legal fees, fines or penalty payments, activities promoting religious beliefs or political activities, activities that the state has a legal obligation to provide, marketing or promotion alone, overseas appeals or travel, water fountains, swimming pools, public toilets, playgrounds, sports sponsorship, sports pitches or surfaces, sports kit or equipment alone, or the purchase of land or property.

The Trust provides one-off grants for project delivery, equipment, training, and capital works. It does not fund core costs through its project funding programme. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications and favours projects that are unique, have genuine community need, and demonstrate real impact on community wellbeing.
