Heritage of London Trust Limited

The Trust funds capital works including emergency repairs, full restorations, condition surveys, feasibility studies, and linked educational activities. It focuses on assets of historic or architectural merit—regardless of official listing—that deliver tangible public access, local pride, skills opportunities, and neighbourhood revitalisation. Priority is given to projects that benefit underserved communities and young people, and that bring neglected heritage back into public use. All funded work must be located within Greater London.

UK-registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, social enterprises, community groups, and local authorities can apply. There are no income thresholds, and applicants do not need to be heritage specialists. Projects must be in Greater London, unfinished, publicly accessible, and demonstrate clear community benefit. The Trust is particularly interested in organisations that can engage young people and reach underserved communities.

The Trust does not fund routine maintenance, core organisational costs, completed works, or projects on non-public sites. It also excludes purely private or commercial heritage assets that offer no public access or community benefit.

Heritage of London Trust provides capital grants for specific restoration or conservation projects. It works collaboratively with applicants to co-design project scopes and welcomes unsolicited applications. The Trust does not fund core costs or ongoing operational expenses, and its grants are focused on one-off capital works rather than multi-year programme support.
