Holywood Trust

The Trust funds a wide range of activities including education and skills development, employment pathways, sport and recreation, arts and culture, mental health support, homelessness prevention, community development, and poverty relief. Grants may cover core costs, salaries, project delivery, capital works, equipment, and training. All funded work must serve young people who are normally resident in Dumfries and Galloway. The Trust prioritises opportunities for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, while also encouraging talented individuals and improving sports and cultural opportunities across the region.

Applications are accepted from organisations and groups, including registered charities and community groups, that are based in or serve Dumfries and Galloway. The Trust supports work that delivers direct benefits to young people, with a priority on those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable. Applicants must ensure their work serves young people normally resident in the region.

The Holywood Trust does not fund retrospective costs, meaning it cannot cover expenses already incurred before a grant decision is made. Additionally, the Trust does not normally accept applications from children under 12 years old, focusing its support on older young people in the region. These exclusions ensure funding is directed appropriately to current and future work for the intended age group.
