Hymans Robertson Foundation

The Foundation funds work that improves financial capability, employability skills, and education for young people. They also support community development, poverty alleviation, and mental health projects. Activities include practical financial education, employment training, and support for young people at risk of underachievement or exclusion. The Foundation also funds community-based initiatives and mental health services that help create stable environments. The Foundation supports charities across the UK, with a particular focus on organisations based in or delivering in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, and Birmingham. Many of their UK-wide partners deliver in all four key locations, ensuring impact reaches multiple communities.

The Foundation welcomes applications from registered charities, community interest companies, and social enterprises that are constituted organisations. Priority is given to organisations based in or delivering in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, and Birmingham. The Foundation focuses on projects that benefit disadvantaged young people and children. For the partnership programme, applications are by invitation only; the Community Fund is open to small non-profit organisations in the key locations.

The Foundation does not fund animal causes. Unsolicited applications for partnership grants are not accepted; the Foundation works by invitation only for that programme. For the Community Fund, organisations outside the key locations of Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, and Birmingham are not eligible.

The Foundation offers two funding streams. Multi-year partnership grants are awarded by invitation only, providing long-term strategic support along with expertise and networking opportunities. The Community Fund provides one-off, unrestricted grants through an open application process, with no match funding required. The Foundation values partnerships that go beyond financial support, offering capacity-building resources and volunteering links.
