J N Derbyshire Trust

The Trust's funding priorities span children and youth, disability, education and skills, mental health, physical health, and poverty and hardship. It supports project costs for initiatives delivering direct impact, such as health promotion, disability services, educational access, and poverty relief efforts targeting underserved Nottinghamshire populations. All projects must serve people in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, and the Trust favours practical interventions by small to medium not-for-profits, preferring community-led solutions with evident local benefits.

The Trust supports registered charities, community interest companies, and charitable incorporated organisations. It only considers applications from organisations that have at least two years of accounts, reflecting its preference for established groups with a track record. The Trust does not fund individuals. Organisations must be situated in and operated for the benefit of people in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, with no geographic base restrictions for the organisation itself as long as projects exclusively benefit local residents.

The Trust does not make grants to individuals. It only considers applications from organisations with at least two years of accounts, so newer groups without this track record are not eligible. Projects that do not serve people in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire are excluded.

The Trust makes grants for project costs, focusing on sustainable, place-based change.
