Lee Education Charity of William Hatcliffe

The Trust funds project delivery, equipment, and training within the London Borough of Lewisham. Current priority areas include helping people get a New Start in life, tackling fuel poverty, improving disability and accessibility, supporting asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants, and assisting older people. They also support causes related to poverty and hardship, refugees and migrants, and disability. The charity funds smaller, local organisations that have a strong connection to their beneficiaries, focusing on direct support for residents. They do not fund core costs, salaries, capital works, research, events, transport, or emergency needs. The work must benefit residents of the London Borough of Lewisham.

Eligible applicants are registered charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs) with at least three unrelated directors. The Trust prioritises smaller, local organisations with a strong connection to their beneficiaries. Beneficiary groups include young people, older people, disabled people, refugees, carers, the unemployed, and homeless people. Applicants must operate and support residents within the London Borough of Lewisham. There is no religious restriction. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations.

The Trust does not fund core costs, salaries, capital works, research, events, transport, or emergency needs. They also exclude retrospective funding, cash payments to individuals, fuel vouchers, personal allowances, general financial support for living costs, video games and non-educational musical instruments, campaigning activities, and research projects primarily concerned with producing films, podcasts, or other media. Animals and environment causes are also excluded.
