Linnet Trust

The Trust funds interventions for low-income families facing poverty and food insecurity, individuals with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and trauma, people with physical disabilities requiring rehabilitation and mobility support, those with behavioural challenges including ADHD and addiction recovery needs, and vulnerable young people and adults experiencing complex health needs or substance misuse. Supported activities include policy advocacy for drug reform and health equity, preventative mental health programmes, community-led poverty alleviation through skills training and employment pathways, therapeutic approaches for behavioural change, and outreach for isolated rural communities. While operating across England and Wales, the Trust has a strong focus on South West England.

Registered charities and community groups are eligible to apply. The Trust prioritises mid-sized organisations with a proven track record of effectiveness, cost-efficiency and evidence-based delivery. It supports groups working with the priority populations described above, with a focus on the South West. There is no religious restriction.

The Trust does not fund individuals, religious organisations, animal welfare, or arts projects. It also does not provide support for project-specific, capital, or emergency funding, instead focusing on core capacity building through unrestricted grants. These exclusions reflect its commitment to long-term core empowerment rather than short-term aid.

The Trust provides unrestricted multi-year funding focused on core capacity building. It believes sustained support unlocks breakthrough innovation and sector resilience, prioritising mid-sized organisations with proven effectiveness. Unsolicited applications are welcome, and the Trust empowers groups through long-term core empowerment rather than short-term aid or project-specific grants.
