London Quaker Service Trust

The Trust funds work that advances Quaker worship, witness and community development across the UK. This includes meeting house improvements, outreach for vulnerable populations, social justice efforts, and programmes fostering inclusive empowerment and spiritual uplift. Educational, recreational and personal growth activities are supported where they enhance mental, physical and spiritual capacities. The Trust also funds community development initiatives that benefit people in social and economic need. Grants can support project work, capital costs and core activities. All funded work is closely aligned with Quaker concerns and values.

Grants are made to UK-based Quaker meetings, societies and closely affiliated charities, as well as community groups. The Trust prioritises Quaker-led or sympathetic initiatives that support disadvantaged groups at society's margins. Organisations working with people in social and economic need are particularly welcome. No formal income thresholds apply, but grassroots groups are preferred. Because the Trust works through relationships rather than open calls, organisations are more likely to receive support if they are already known to Quaker networks or can demonstrate a genuine connection to Quaker principles.

The Trust excludes general fundraising and income generation from its grant-making. It does not accept unsolicited applications, and grants are confined to work aligned with Quaker principles of equality, peace, simplicity and truth. Activities outside this scope are not supported.

The Trust operates through a relationship-driven approach, awarding grants without open calls for applications. Funding can cover project work, capital costs, core activities and community development, giving recipients flexibility in how they deliver Quaker-aligned outcomes. The Trust favours long-term stewardship and supports known entities that embody Quaker values, rather than broad public philanthropy.
