Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities operating for at least one year, with a strong preference for those with incomes under £1 million; larger charities may apply if projects align closely. Funding must target one of three objectives, serve communities in England, Scotland, or Wales (priority near stores), and benefit broad groups rather than individuals.

Grants typically range from £5,000 to £10,000 (capped at £10,000, rarely £25,000) for full project costs only, via a straightforward online form on a rolling basis—no deadlines, with decisions within three months. It excludes salaries, running/core costs, CICs, animal welfare (unless aiding vulnerable people), sports/faith activities without community benefits, or public agency duties. Distinctively, it supports recurring applications post-project, emphasizes grassroots capital efforts tied to a retailer's footprint, and fully funds high-impact initiatives for small charities addressing acute social needs.
