Ogden Trust

The Trust funds physics education initiatives across England. This includes equipment, training, project delivery, and events for young people. Through its School Partnerships programme, it supports schools in developing long-term physics teaching capacity, with priority given to schools serving under-represented groups, those with above-average free school meal eligibility, and schools in priority areas. The Trust also funds enrichment activities such as visits to CERN, which require match funding. All funded work must take place in England and benefit young people aged 4 to 18.

Schools, registered charities, community groups, social enterprises, and community interest companies based in England are eligible to apply. The Trust prioritises organisations working with young people from under-represented groups in physics, and schools with higher than average numbers of students eligible for free school meals. Applicants should be based in England and deliver activities within England. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications.

The Trust does not fund retrospective costs or activities that take place outside England. Schools that have received CERN visit funding are not eligible for consecutive years of support for that programme.

The Trust offers both multi-year partnerships and one-off grants. Its School Partnerships programme provides four years of funding with an additional year of transition support. Enrichment grants, such as those for CERN visits, are one-off and require match funding from the school or other sources. The Trust accepts unsolicited applications and favours projects that are strategic, partnership-driven, and scalable.
