Origin Foundation

The Trust funds Bristol youth charities that deliver direct interventions in skills-building, confidence enhancement, education, employability, and inspirational experiences for disadvantaged young people. Support can take the form of project funding, capacity building, or core costs, with a focus on established organisations that have a proven track record in the community. The Foundation prioritises measurable outcomes that empower young people to shape their own futures. All funded work must be rooted in Bristol and serve local youth.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities rooted in Bristol and serving local youth. The Trust favours small to medium-sized entities with a proven track record in the community. No strict income thresholds apply, but established organisations with demonstrated impact are particularly welcome. The Foundation prioritises organisations that serve disadvantaged young people from underserved communities.

The Foundation does not fund one-off projects, emergency appeals, or initiatives outside Bristol. It avoids supporting organisations that lack a local Bristol base or that do not directly serve young people in the city.

The Trust works through long-term partnerships and is invite-only, proactively reaching out to organisations rather than accepting unsolicited applications. It offers project funding, capacity building, and core costs, and often acts as a connector, linking charities with businesses and community leaders for collective impact. Occasionally, it commissions research to target evidenced needs. The Foundation prefers to work with established organisations and values measurable outcomes.
