Peabody Community Foundation

The Foundation funds community development activities, including project delivery and events. It supports initiatives that bring people together, reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. The Foundation prioritises work that benefits children, young people, and older people, and also addresses poverty and community needs. Programmes are designed to reflect local priorities, with funding available in areas where Peabody has homes and services across London and the South East, as well as in Houghton Regis.

Eligible applicants include local charities, community groups, and individuals. Applicants must be based in or delivering benefit to areas where Peabody has homes and services, primarily across London and the South East, including Thamesmead, Hackney, and Waltham Forest, as well as Houghton Regis. The Foundation supports work that benefits the general public, with a focus on children, young people and older people. There is no religious restriction.

The Foundation does not typically fund large capital projects, such as building works or major equipment purchases. It also does not fund work that takes place outside Peabody's operational footprint, which includes London and the South East, and Houghton Regis.

The Foundation provides grants for project delivery and events. It favours small-scale, place-based initiatives that are developed in partnership with local residents. Programmes are tailored to local need, with priorities set by each area. The Foundation values resident voice and aims to strengthen communities through grassroots action.
