Percy Bilton Charity

The Charity funds work that supports children and young people, disabled people, older people, and those experiencing mental health difficulties across the UK. Grants are available for specific capital items including furniture (such as beds and white goods), equipment (specialist seating, hoists, sensory tools), and transport (adapted minibuses). The Charity prefers to fund items that can be provided in full rather than contributing to larger projects. Support is given both to organisations and directly to individuals in urgent need.

Registered charities can apply for large grants, while small grants are open to a broader range of organisations including community groups, schools, faith groups, social enterprises, and other not-for-profit entities. Unregistered groups must supply a reference from another charity, Council for Voluntary Service, or local authority youth service. The Charity also makes grants directly to individuals in need. Beneficiaries are children, young people, disabled people, older people, and those with mental health difficulties. There is no religious restriction.

The Charity does not fund core costs, salaries, training, events, research, or general office equipment. It cannot make cheques payable to individuals for organisational grants. It also prefers not to contribute to partial funding of larger projects, focusing instead on one-off items it can cover completely.

Grants are one-off payments made by cheque. The Charity welcomes unsolicited applications and does not require match funding. Its grants are for single items or complete projects rather than ongoing or multi-year commitments.
