Postcode Places Trust

The Trust funds work across four themes: enabling arts participation, reducing the impact of poverty, supporting marginalised groups and tackling inequality, and addressing specific mental health issues. It supports community development and projects that benefit people in the most deprived areas of the East of England. Grants are unrestricted, allowing recipients to use funds for core costs or project costs as needed. The Trust offers multi-year funding, providing stability for organisations to plan and deliver lasting change.

Registered charities, community interest companies, and community benefit societies based in the East of England can apply. Priority is given to organisations with modest incomes, and to those working in communities experiencing the highest levels of deprivation. The Trust also prioritises support for marginalised groups, including disabled people, communities experiencing racial inequity, and LGBT+ people, as well as areas that have had less previous support. Applicants must have a UK bank account with two unrelated signatories and have been operating for at least one year.

The Trust does not fund activities related to animals, physical health, or faith. It excludes organisations such as schools, universities, colleges, nurseries, preschools, PTAs, local or regional government bodies, and political parties. It also does not fund research, equipment, or transport costs, nor does it fund retrospective costs, reserves, or the distribution of grants to individuals or other organisations. Organisations supported by players of Postcode Lottery through other Postcode Trusts, or those that have previously breached their Funding Agreement, are not eligible.

The Trust offers multi-year funding and welcomes unsolicited applications. It provides unrestricted grants, giving recipients flexibility to allocate funds where they are most needed. The Trust prioritises small, grassroots organisations and aims to support those in areas of high deprivation, with a focus on creating lasting positive change for people and the planet.
