Prosper Wakefield District Ltd

The Trust funds work that supports children and young people through youth development, after-school activities, mentoring, and early intervention services addressing educational barriers, mental health, and youth unemployment. They also support households on the edge via poverty relief, food insecurity programmes, homelessness prevention, and crisis support for families facing hardship or domestic pressures. Community connectivity projects such as peer support groups, befriending schemes, drop-in centres, and outreach tackling social isolation are also funded, alongside VCSE capacity building including core cost funding, training, and business planning. All funding is focused on the Wakefield District.

Registered charities, community interest companies, and community groups based in and working for the Wakefield District can apply. The Trust prioritises organisations that embody a collaborative ethos, lived experience leadership, and ambitions for health equity. They welcome unsolicited applications from grassroots VCSE organisations.

The Trust does not fund non-public benefit activities, national entities lacking local ties, or interventions that duplicate robustly funded services. They also do not support statutory replacements or profit-making ventures.

The Trust offers flexible, unrestricted grants, including core cost funding, to support sustainable, long-term capacity building. They welcome unsolicited applications and favour a co-produced approach informed by local voices and community insight.
