Quartet Community Foundation harnesses local philanthropy to tackle entrenched inequalities, promote inclusion, and build resilient communities through evidence-driven, place-based grantmaking. Guided by values of fairness, partnership, integrity, and long-term stewardship, it mobilizes resources for profound social change, aspiring to equitable opportunities where no community is left behind. Funding decisions prioritize local knowledge from community insights and social research, favoring grassroots partnerships, capacity building, multi-year support, and catalytic investments that empower marginalized groups via community-led, preventative action for systemic transformation.

It funds interventions addressing economic disadvantage, poverty alleviation, mental health counselling and wellbeing for those with anxiety, depression or chronic conditions, disability support including respite care and inclusive activities for people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or complex health needs, children and young people’s development through youth work, after-school clubs, play schemes, mentoring and employability training for care leavers aged 16-25 facing barriers, carer support and family interventions for marginalised families, community cohesion via arts, cultural engagement and befriending for isolated older people, LGBTQ+ individuals and ethnic minorities, crisis response for homelessness prevention, food insecurity through food poverty programs, addiction recovery peer support groups, refugee and asylum seeker advocacy, and environmental sustainability including climate action, sustainable energy and community transport tackling fuel poverty and digital inequalities in underserved urban and rural neighbourhoods.

Exclusions encompass retrospective costs, political activities, sports or arts lacking community benefit, and religious promotion. Distinctive for its deep West of England community intelligence, flexible donor-advised funds responsive to emerging crises like cost of living, and emphasis on small grassroots organizations delivering high-leverage impact through holistic, trauma-informed, person-centred services prioritizing isolated elderly, disabled children and adults, young people with ADHD or autism spectrum disorder, families in hardship, and racially or geographically excluded communities fostering evidence-based, inclusive resilience.
