Quartet Community Foundation

Quartet Community Foundation funds community development, climate action and nature recovery across Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Grants can support project delivery, core costs, equipment, training and events, providing flexible backing for a wide range of local initiatives. A dedicated North Somerset Community Transport Grant supports community transport groups and car schemes. The Foundation welcomes applications that include climate and nature considerations, even when these are not the primary focus, and prioritises work that benefits the general public. Its approach is to fund grassroots organisations that understand the needs of their own neighbourhoods.

Registered charities, community groups, community interest companies, town and parish councils, and community benefit societies can apply. Organisations must be based in and carry out their work within the four West of England local authority areas. Individuals are not eligible. There is no religious restriction, and the Foundation welcomes applications from groups that understand their own local communities.

The Foundation excludes animal welfare, general appeals, and projects that directly replace statutory funding. It does not fund political or religious activities, arts or sports projects lacking a community or charitable element, medical research or treatment, or projects that take place before an application can be processed. Activities that raise funds for other organisations are also excluded. Capital works are not covered.

Quartet Community Foundation makes single-year grants, with a maximum award per organisation in any twelve-month period. Grants can cover both project and core costs. They welcome unsolicited applications and encourage climate action and nature recovery work. Funding is awarded to community-led organisations across the West of England.
