Rock Foundation

Rock Foundation UK Ltd, established in 2008 by Pam Hodge in North East Lincolnshire, is a hands-on front-line charity delivering innovative, practical support to young people and adults with learning disabilities, as well as those facing social disadvantage. Its core mission is to combat social exclusion by fostering skill development, employability, and independent living through dignity-driven, participant-led services. Operating from sites in Grimsby and Caistor, it embodies values of empowerment, inclusion, and holistic well-being, envisioning a society where marginalized individuals achieve their full potential via meaningful activities and social participation.

The Foundation prioritizes daytime structured activities (woodwork, crafts, gardening, animal care, radio, and kitchen training) to build confidence, social skills, and employment readiness for over 90 adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities. It provides supported living for up to 12 residents unable to live independently, alongside social enterprises like tea rooms, charity shops, and craft sales that offer paid work, volunteering, and income generation. Since 2014, Rock Food Bank has addressed local food insecurity and poverty with parcels and crisis advice, extending reach to broader disadvantaged communities in the area.

Rock Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications, fund external organizations, or operate as a grantmaker—eligibility is limited to its in-house programs for North East Lincolnshire residents (primarily Grimsby and Caistor), with no income/size rules, geographic expansion, or religious restrictions. There are no grant ranges, deadlines, application processes, or meetings for outsiders; all funding supports direct delivery. Distinctively, it blends social enterprise, skills training, and crisis relief into integrated, locally focused provision, differentiating it from desk-based or grant-only charities through tangible, empowerment-oriented impact.
