Rotary Club of Amber Valley

The Club funds projects across the Borough of Amber Valley and Derbyshire, addressing poverty, disability, health, youth development, elderly welfare, equality, environment, heritage, and overseas aid. They support community-led initiatives such as therapeutic activities, peer support groups, respite care, mentoring, befriending, and after-school clubs. Health programmes include disease eradication and medical transport, while disability services focus on children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD. Carer support, employment training, and environmental preservation are also within scope. The Club favours small-scale, high-leverage actions that build resilience and equity.

Registered charities and community groups based in or serving the Borough of Amber Valley and Derbyshire can apply. The Club prioritises grassroots organisations addressing overlooked needs, particularly those supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, isolated elderly people, disabled individuals, and low-income families. Both established charities and smaller community groups are welcome, with no religious restriction on applicants.

The Club does not fund standalone individual treatments or large-scale infrastructure projects. They also avoid duplicative or low-impact efforts, preferring practical and collaborative projects that maximise public benefit. Applications that do not align with the Club's focus on community-led, small-scale actions are unlikely to be supported.

The Club welcomes unsolicited applications and favours flexible, responsive funding through grassroots partnerships. They support projects through community fundraising and volunteer-driven service, emphasising practical, collaborative approaches. The funding style is rooted in hyper-local action with global Rotary networks, focusing on high-leverage small-scale grants.
