Rotary Club of York Charity Fund

The Fund provides grants for project costs and occasional defined capital items, with a preference for initiatives that align with Rotary's focus areas. In York, it supports literacy programmes, housing and food insecurity relief, disease prevention, clean water access, and financial security for low-income families. It also contributes to international causes through the Rotary network, particularly in health, education, and economic development. The Fund favours measurable, partnership-driven interventions and often encourages matched funding to amplify impact. All funded work must primarily benefit residents of the City of York, though the Fund's reach extends globally through its Rotary connections.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups that deliver activities within the City of York. The Fund prioritises small to medium-sized organisations and grassroots initiatives with strong local ties, demonstrated community need, and a collaborative, sustainable approach. It supports projects benefiting children and young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those facing poverty. There are no religious restrictions, and organisations based outside York may apply as long as their beneficiaries are primarily York residents.

The Fund does not support core costs, large capital campaigns, or individual scholarships. It also excludes applications that do not primarily benefit residents of the City of York.
