Rothschild Foundation

The Foundation funds not-for-profit organisations delivering restoration and conservation, creative events, environmental efforts and community welfare. It supports a range of activities including project funding, core costs, capital grants and capacity building. Priorities include Buckinghamshire (excluding Milton Keynes), London and UK-wide causes, with some European scope. Specific themes include arts, heritage, environmental sustainability and social welfare, with a focus on initiatives that enhance public access and measurable impact.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies and social enterprises. The Foundation prioritises organisations with a local roots in Buckinghamshire, though applicants from London and across the UK are considered. It favours equitable access and inclusion, supporting public-benefit projects that enable people to realise their potential. There is no religious restriction.

The Foundation does not fund activities lacking a clear public benefit, non-charitable organisations, or political campaigning. It also excludes projects that do not align with its thematic priorities of arts, heritage, environmental sustainability and social welfare.

The Foundation provides project funding, core costs, capital grants and capacity building support. It favours long-term impactful giving and welcomes unsolicited applications. Programmes include the Community Fund for local and national projects, the Green Fund for sustainability initiatives, and a Schools Access Fund, each tailored to different applicants or themes.
