Royal National Children's Springboard Foundation

The Foundation exclusively funds individual child placements at boarding schools, covering fees, uniforms, travel, and essentials. Priority is given to children facing socio-economic deprivation, trauma, family breakdown, neglect, generational unemployment, gang risks, or poor state school options. It also supports looked-after children, young carers, child protection cases, and unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors. The charity focuses on youth and education, aiming to break cycles of deprivation through access to boarding school education across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Referrals come solely from professionals such as social workers, local authorities, and accredited community partners. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications from charities or individuals. Eligible beneficiaries are disadvantaged and vulnerable children, including those in or on the edge of care, who face socio-economic hardship, trauma, or other significant barriers. There are no income thresholds or entity restrictions beyond the requirement for referrals to come from approved professionals. The Foundation works with over 100 partner schools to place children.

The Foundation does not fund core costs, capital projects, or project grants to organisations. It also does not accept unsolicited applications from charities or individuals. All funds are reserved for individual child placements at boarding schools, and no support is provided for other types of educational or charitable activities.

The Foundation funds through a collaborative model, co-financing placements with partner schools and leveraging school contributions to amplify each grant. It provides multi-year support for individual children, covering all essentials. All funding is directed through referrals from professionals, and the charity does not accept unsolicited proposals. Trauma-informed pastoral care and alumni mentoring are integral to the support provided.
