Shanly Foundation

The Foundation supports causes including community projects, health and disability, children and young people, homelessness, environmental work, and projects that benefit disadvantaged local people. It funds core costs, salaries, project delivery, capital works, equipment, and events. The Foundation works across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, and North London. Through its Training & Careers in Construction Fund, it supports organisations promoting the UK construction skills base and pathways into construction careers for disadvantaged groups, disabled individuals, the long-term unemployed, and youth. The Action Against Homelessness Fund supports organisations working to eradicate homelessness and provide practical opportunities for vulnerable people to build skills and return to work.

The Foundation makes awards to registered charities, CICs, CIOs, community groups, schools, and colleges. It does not make awards to individuals. Priority is given to organisations supporting disadvantaged groups, the physically and mentally disabled, the elderly, and those rehabilitating citizens back into local communities. Applicants must operate within the Foundation's geographic area of South East England, including Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, and North London.

The Foundation does not fund individuals, research, military charities, single faith charities, animal welfare charities, activities that have already taken place, or endowments or reserves.

The Foundation offers both one-off and multi-year grants, with multi-year grants available for a maximum of three years. Multi-year grants are not often awarded to applicants to the General Fund but are available through the Action Against Homelessness and Careers in Construction funds. The Foundation funds core costs, salaries, project delivery, capital works, equipment, and events. It welcomes unsolicited applications.
