Snow Sports Foundation

The Snow Sports Foundation, a charitable incorporated organisation established in 2014 by Naomi Stuart—motivated by her family's experience with neurodiversity—transforms lives by enabling access to snow sports for individuals facing barriers like neurodiversity, disabilities, mental health challenges, financial hardship, or social exclusion. Its mission centres on inclusion, empowerment, and reducing isolation through snow sports at UK indoor centres like Hemel Hempstead, delivered by specialist providers. Core values emphasise building confidence, physical fitness, life skills, and social integration for children and adults who cannot self-fund or need extra support due to sensory, intellectual, neurological conditions, developmental disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. Governed by a voluntary board with lived and professional expertise, it partners with entities like Ski Solutions to amplify impact.

The Foundation funds project grants covering participation costs, tuition, specialist support, and travel for individuals and grassroots/small organisations serving those with complex needs. It prioritises outcomes like enhanced wellbeing, family dynamics, and transferable skills, focusing exclusively on snow sports as a unique vehicle for personal transformation.

UK-based applicants (individuals or organisations, anywhere in the UK) are eligible, with preference for smaller entities working with the most marginalised; no strict income limits apply. Funding is invite- or referral-only—no unsolicited applications—with quarterly trustee meetings and discretionary off-cycle decisions. Typical grants range £150–£1,000 for individuals and £1,000–£7,500 for organisations.

It excludes large capital projects, unrestricted core costs, and non-snow-sports activities, distinguishing itself through bespoke, specialist-led programmes, evidenced impact on profound exclusion, and a collaborative model leveraging snow sports' freedom for lifelong change.
