Team Verrico

Team Verrico, founded in 2013 by Paul Verrico in South Yorkshire after his wife Anna's death from triple negative breast cancer, is a volunteer-led charity embodying her 'Never give up' ethos. It exists to improve outcomes for those facing hard-to-treat cancers, particularly triple negative breast cancer, through dual commitments to cutting-edge research at UK universities like Sheffield, Cardiff, Brighton, and Nottingham, and direct practical support for families. With no paid staff, 100% of donor funds go to beneficiaries, emphasizing transparency, swift compassionate aid, and real-world impact via non-bureaucratic processes.

The charity prioritizes young families with children under 18 affected by cancer across England and Wales, funding childcare, transport, second opinions, counselling, genetic testing, financial assistance, and awareness campaigns to boost early detection. It supports research into new therapies and diagnostics for aggressive/rare cancers, alongside grants to individuals, small grassroots groups, and academics for projects enhancing treatment and family resilience.

Eligible applicants include UK-registered charities, community groups, and academic institutions, with a preference for smaller organizations; there are no income thresholds or geographic restrictions within England and Wales, and unsolicited applications are welcomed. Grants typically range from £100 to £20,000 (£100-£2,500 for individuals, up to £20,000 for research/projects), submitted via online form or email with diagnosis details and need breakdown. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with prompt decisions, no fixed deadlines.

Team Verrico does not offer unrestricted/core funding or support large national charities, focusing instead on targeted aid.
