Triodos Foundation

The Foundation supports work across community development, environmental protection, and the arts. Priority areas include enabling excluded people to live more fulfilling lives, addressing previously overlooked needs of children and young people, and fostering shifts in how the public or voluntary sector supports local communities. It also funds projects that inspire people to get involved in nature and environmental protection. All funded work must be based in and serve the local area of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Somerset. The Foundation supports specific project costs rather than core or unrestricted funding.

Registered charities and community interest companies (CICs) based in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, or Somerset are eligible. The Foundation prioritises small, grassroots organisations serving these areas. Beneficiaries include excluded people, children and young people with overlooked needs, and local communities. There is no restriction on religious context. Organisations must demonstrate a local focus and a commitment to long-term positive change.

The Foundation does not fund large capital projects, unrestricted core funding, or organisations based outside its geographic area of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Somerset. It also does not support broad generalist grants that lack a specific local or thematic focus.

The Foundation provides small grants for specific initiatives rather than core costs. It welcomes unsolicited applications. Grants are typically one-off and aimed at covering project expenses. The Foundation does not offer multi-year funding or match funding arrangements.
