United St Saviour's Charity

The trust funds a wide range of community-based activities across Southwark, with a priority on the borough's deprived wards. Supported work includes projects that build community connections, reduce social isolation, improve health equity, provide youth mentoring and skills development, offer arts and cultural opportunities, and support mental health. They also fund capacity building for small organisations, helping them become more resilient and effective. The charity prioritises work that benefits minoritised groups, young people, older residents, people with disabilities, and those facing disadvantage. Some programmes provide unrestricted awards for groups led by disabled people and mental health organisations. All funding is restricted to organisations based in or serving Southwark.

The charity funds UK-registered charities, community groups, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, and social enterprises. Applicants must be based in Southwark or the work must directly benefit Southwark residents. There is a strong preference for small, grassroots organisations that are rooted in local communities and represent the populations they serve. The trust prioritises projects that support minoritised communities, young people, older adults, people with disabilities, and those with mental health challenges. There is no religious restriction on eligibility.

The trust does not fund standard emergency appeals or seed funding for new organisations. It also excludes standalone capital projects, such as building works or equipment purchases, that are not part of a broader programme of support. Funding is not available for activities outside the London Borough of Southwark.

The trust offers a mix of one-off grants for events or small projects and larger multi-year grants for sustained community work. Some programmes provide unrestricted awards, particularly for organisations led by disabled people and those working in mental health. The charity accepts unsolicited applications from eligible organisations.
