Veterans' Foundation

The Veterans' Foundation funds a wide range of causes including homelessness, employment, poverty and hardship, disability, mental health, children and youth, and older people. It supports project delivery, equipment, training, core costs, and salaries. The Foundation works across the UK, with a focus on low- to medium-income organisations that are directly involved in supporting the armed forces community. It funds frontline services such as mental health support, homelessness prevention, employment retraining, family support, emergency relief, rehabilitation, and poverty alleviation.

Registered charities, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations that support veterans, armed forces personnel, and their families may apply. The Foundation prioritises small, grassroots groups and those working with harder-to-reach or underrepresented individuals, including people with additional support needs, ethnic minorities, LGBT+ and female groups. Organisations must be directly involved in supporting the armed forces community and have a low to medium income. Community Interest Companies (CICs) Ltd by shares, organisations with individuals having significant control on Companies House, private limited companies, statutory organisations, and educational institutions are not eligible.

The Veterans' Foundation does not fund general appeals, gap years, study trips, fundraising expeditions, campaigning or lobbying, retrospective funding, repayment of loans or debts, Armed Forces Day celebrations, or cadet groups unless they are associated with veterans. It also excludes organisations that do not support the armed forces or seafaring communities, housing associations unless activities and costs are clear, any activities that result in profit, and organisations requiring payments to accounts outside the UK.

The Foundation offers both one-off and multi-year grants, with multi-year grants available for up to three years. It supports project delivery, core costs, and salaries. The Foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and works with registered charities, community groups, and not-for-profits across the UK.
