Walcot Educational Foundation

The Foundation funds projects that improve educational attainment and prospects for low-income families and at-risk youth in Lambeth. This includes literacy and numeracy tutoring, psychotherapy, counselling, mentoring, family outreach, financial literacy, work readiness, and therapeutic support. Grants are directed to Lambeth residents only, often through schools, local charities, or direct individual aid, with a strong emphasis on core costs and multi-year programmes. The Foundation supports a range of activities that address educational poverty and create opportunities for disadvantaged young people under 30, focusing on evidence-based interventions that deliver measurable outcomes.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, community groups, or academic institutions working in Lambeth or planning to serve its disadvantaged youth. The Foundation prioritises organisations with deep local insight and a commitment to measurable impact. Applications are accepted from recent or existing partners, with schools and new organisations able to apply at a later stage. The Foundation seeks partners who demonstrate a strong understanding of the local context and a track record of effective work with low-income families and at-risk young people.

The Foundation does not fund activities outside Lambeth, capital projects, emergencies, debt, or statutory services. It also does not support non-Lambeth activities or individual student grants in the current cycle.

The Foundation provides flexible, outcome-focused support, with a strong emphasis on core costs and multi-year programmes. It works by invitation only, with existing partners able to apply through a structured process. The Foundation values partnerships that demonstrate deep local insight and a commitment to measurable impact, reflecting its place-based and evidence-based approach to grantmaking.
