Priority areas span science and medicine, health and disability, education, and arts and heritage. All funding is for facility-based work such as buildings, refurbishments, and equipment. The geographic focus is primarily England for UK-based charities, with a distinct stream for Israeli projects.

UK-registered charities serving the Jewish community are eligible, primarily those based in England. The trust prefers medium-to-large organisations with a national reputation in cultural or heritage sectors and proven financial viability. Beneficiaries include synagogues, schools, care homes, and community infrastructure providers. Only organisations may apply; individuals are not supported. Unsolicited applications are welcome, and the trust considers projects that demonstrate strong local roots and community benefit.

The trust does not fund revenue costs, operational expenses, maintenance, land purchases, or non-specific appeals. It redirects applications that fall outside its remit to the related Wolfson Foundation. Projects that are purely revenue-based or lack a capital element are not considered.

The trust provides capital-only grants for buildings, refurbishments, and equipment, typically as one-off awards. It requires projects to demonstrate matched funding from other sources. The trust welcomes unsolicited applications and emphasises partnership, often leveraging its grants to attract additional co-funders. It does not fund ongoing operational costs or multi-year revenue programmes.
