Worshipful Company of World Traders Charitable Trust

The Trust funds projects that help young people through education and skills development, and through relief of poverty and hardship. It looks for original or innovative work, and initiatives the Company can be publicly identified with. For projects not linked to world trade, a City of London or inner London connection is desirable. The Trust supports work in these areas wherever the project meets its priorities, and may consider multi-year support for successful initiatives. Match funding is expected from applicants.

Registered charities and schools are eligible to apply to the Trust. Grants are made to organisations only, not to individuals. The Trust has a particular interest in projects benefiting young people, whether through education, skills or hardship support. Applicants should demonstrate an original or innovative approach and propose work the Company can be publicly associated with. For initiatives without a world trade connection, a City of London or inner London link is desirable.

The Trust does not fund individuals, either directly or via other organisations. It does not support projects that lack an original or innovative character. For initiatives not connected to world trade, a City of London or inner London link is normally required, so projects without this link are unlikely to be supported.

Grants are made on a matched funding basis, so applicants are expected to contribute toward project costs. The Trust may consider multi-year support. It welcomes unsolicited applications and favours projects the Company can be publicly identified with, reflecting its wish to be openly associated with the work it funds.
