Yorkshire Children's Charity

The charity funds equipment that directly benefits children and young people facing disability, financial hardship or physical health challenges. Grants are for organisations operating in Yorkshire, supporting the immediate needs of children and young people to improve their daily quality of life. Priority is given to projects that enhance happiness, health, comfort and independence. Supported causes include disability, poverty and hardship, and physical health. The charity works through registered charities, schools and community groups across the region.

Registered charities, schools and community groups based in Yorkshire are eligible to apply. The charity supports organisations that work directly with children and young people living with a disability, in poverty or with ill health. It favours grassroots, volunteer-led groups over those with professional fundraising staff. Organisations that have received a grant from the charity in the previous 18 months are not eligible to apply. All beneficiaries must be resident in Yorkshire.

The charity does not fund organisations that employ a professional fundraiser. It will not consider applications from groups that have already received a grant from Yorkshire Children's Charity within the previous 18 months. Only equipment grants are offered; other types of costs are not supported.

Yorkshire Children's Charity provides one-off equipment grants to organisations. They welcome unsolicited applications from eligible groups. The charity's funding is focused on meeting urgent, practical needs for children and young people in Yorkshire, delivered through grassroots organisations.
