Barnwood Trust

Barnwood Trust funds work that has a positive impact on the lives of disabled people and people with mental health challenges in Gloucestershire. They support project delivery, core costs, and salaries for organisations, as well as grants to individuals for essential household items and enrichment opportunities. The Trust prioritises applications where disabled people and people with mental health challenges were involved in the planning of the work. They also fund activities that help build skills, confidence, and autonomy in the local community. All funded work must directly benefit people in Gloucestershire.

Barnwood Trust is open to registered charities, community interest companies, community groups, social enterprises, and unincorporated associations delivering work in Gloucestershire. Their governing document or charitable objects must show an explicit commitment to disability and/or mental health, and this commitment must be evident in their work. They also accept applications from individuals for grants for essential household items and enrichment opportunities. The Trust prioritises applications that involve disabled people and people with mental health challenges in the planning of the work.

Barnwood Trust is unable to fund items that should be funded by the Council or NHS. They also do not fund items that have already been purchased, or requests for non-disabled members of the family. Work that does not have a direct benefit in Gloucestershire is not supported.

Barnwood Trust offers both one-off and multi-year funding, with multi-year grants available for up to three years. They welcome unsolicited applications and do not require match funding. The Trust funds core costs, salaries, and project delivery, and their approach is shaped by the belief that those with lived experience should be at the heart of decision-making.
