Bauer Radio's Cash for Kids Charities (Scotland)

The Trust funds projects that directly benefit children and young people, with a focus on poverty relief, mental health and wellbeing, sport and physical activity, disability equipment, education and skills, and diversity and inclusion. Grants support a wide range of activities including project delivery, equipment, training, events, transport, and emergency support. The Trust operates across Scotland, with regional teams covering areas such as Glasgow, Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, North East Scotland, Tayside, Forth Valley, Moray Firth, the Borders, and West Scotland. Specific programmes include the Coat Appeal, which provides essential winter clothing and equipment to children in need.

Eligible organisations include registered charities with a modest annual turnover, community groups, schools, and parents or guardians applying on behalf of individual children. The Trust prioritises projects that benefit many children and ensures geographical coverage across Scotland. It does not accept applications from Community Interest Companies (CICs). Applications are welcomed from grassroots organisations and schools, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged children and young people up to age 18, including those with disabilities.

The Trust does not fund core costs, salaries, research, capital works, trips or projects abroad, medical research or treatment, costs for developing an individual child in a particular sport, pregnancy testing or counselling, political activity, funds to be passed on to other organisations, budget shortfalls, debt repayments, household bills, cash grants to individuals, therapy dogs, general home improvements (except accessibility), furniture not specifically for children, televisions, rent or rates, projects intended to influence religious choices, sports equipment for schools or sports groups (redirected to Sports Challenge), educational bursaries or scholarships, cosmetic or dental procedures, cars, or funerals.

The Trust makes one-off grants for specific projects or equipment. It welcomes unsolicited applications and works through regional teams to ensure local donations benefit local children. Grants are intended for a single project and must be used within a reasonable timeframe. The Trust does not offer multi-year funding.
