Castle Cavendish Foundation

The Foundation supports community development through a range of programmes, including Area-Based Grants, Locally Identified Needs Grants, a Holiday Activity & Food Programme, and a Small Grants Programme. They fund project delivery and core costs, enabling organisations to run activities that strengthen local neighbourhoods. Specific themes include holiday activities and food provision for children and young people, as well as broader community-led initiatives. All funded work must take place within the nine designated Nottingham wards: Basford, Berridge, Sherwood, Hyson Green & Arboretum, Radford and Castle, Meadows, Lenton & Wollaton East, and Wollaton West.

Community groups, voluntary organisations, and registered charities working in the nine specified Nottingham wards are eligible to apply. The Foundation prioritises grassroots organisations that are embedded in their local communities. Most programmes are open to groups delivering services for the general public, with the Holiday Activity & Food Programme specifically targeting children and young people. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

The Foundation does not fund organisations or projects outside the nine designated Nottingham wards. They also do not support individuals or activities that fall outside their community development focus.

Castle Cavendish Foundation accepts unsolicited applications and operates on a rolling basis with a streamlined process to respond quickly to local needs. They fund both project delivery and core costs, and work in partnership with Nottingham City Council to distribute grants. Their funding style is one-off per programme, with grants awarded for specific initiatives within the targeted wards.
