Combined Cutlers Company Charitable Trust

The Trust supports work in poverty relief, health and disability services, and social inclusion. Specific areas include families in financial hardship, autism spectrum disorder services such as peer support groups and carer respite for children and young people, cancer support counselling and complex health needs care, and social inclusion programmes for disabled people. It also funds educational opportunities, after-school activities for disadvantaged youth, and community wellbeing services that combat isolation and exclusion. All funded activities must benefit residents of Sheffield and South Yorkshire, including Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield City.

Registered charities and community groups based in or serving Sheffield and South Yorkshire are eligible. The Trust favours grassroots organisations with strong local roots and a demonstrable track record of regional impact. Priority beneficiaries include autistic children and their families, cancer patients, disabled youth and adults, households experiencing financial hardship, and socially excluded residents. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

The Trust does not fund activities outside Sheffield and South Yorkshire. It generally favours local organisations over national charities and does not support work that lacks a clear connection to the region.

The Trust offers flexible project and revenue grants, supporting both specific initiatives and core costs. It welcomes unsolicited applications and makes decisions based on trustees’ local knowledge and pragmatic assessment of community need.
