The Trust funds projects that fall into categories including the advancement of the Christian religion (especially the teaching and usage of Orthodox Churches of the East), relief of sickness and/or poverty, and the long-term maintenance of the character of the Estate and the local environment. They also support management of woodlands and other Estate features for public benefit. Cause areas covered include faith, community development, education and skills, poverty and hardship, and physical health. The Trust supports project delivery costs and has a strong local focus, funding work that benefits West Berkshire and neighbouring counties.

Applications are accepted from UK registered charities. The Trust prioritises charities serving local residents, disadvantaged people, church communities, and those facing illness in West Berkshire and neighbouring counties. Projects must fit within the Trust's stated objectives and demonstrate a clear local benefit. The Trust has no religious restriction on applicants, though it particularly supports the advancement of the Christian religion as part of its mission.

The Trust does not fund overseas charities or funds, and does not consider applications from outside the UK. All supported work must be based in and benefit the UK, with a strong preference for West Berkshire and neighbouring counties.
