James Hannington Memorial Trust

JHMT funds a range of Christian work, including evangelistic outreach, discipleship, and practical compassion projects. It supports Christian societies, mission agencies, local and overseas ministries, church planting initiatives, and individual workers engaged in religious activities, overseas aid, famine relief, and humanitarian efforts. Grants can cover project costs, core organisational costs, and emergency relief, reflecting a blend of spiritual and practical support.

Geographically, the Trust focuses on the UK (especially Brighton and Hove), Africa, Continental Europe, Latin America, and other regions. All funded work must have a clear Gospel orientation and be aligned with the Trust's evangelical mission.

Eligibility is restricted to Christian entities or individuals with established links to Bishop Hannington Church or its mission partners. The Trust does not impose income or size thresholds, and there are no geographic limits beyond these ties. Beneficiaries are those reached through gospel outreach and humanitarian efforts. However, JHMT does not accept unsolicited applications; nomination or invitation by the Trust or church is required. The Trust prioritises workers and agencies with active ties to the church community.
