Leicestershire and Rutland County Nursing Association

The Trust funds the relief of hardship for sick, disabled, or infirm individuals, particularly former nursing professionals. It also supports local organisations addressing health-related poverty, carers, dementia care, and disability services through one-off and ongoing grants. Specific themes include respite care, emergency aid, and core welfare activities for grassroots groups. Partner organisations have included Melton Mencap, New Life Foundation, Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses, Dove Cottage, and Blood Bikes. All funding is restricted to Leicestershire and Rutland, with a focus on acute needs not covered by statutory services.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups based in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Trust prioritises small, local organisations serving individuals facing hardship due to sickness, disability, infirmity, or poverty, with a particular focus on former nursing professionals. There are no income thresholds, but a preference for grassroots entities. Beneficiaries include carers, people with dementia, and those with disabilities. There are no religious restrictions on applicants.

The Trust excludes activities outside Leicestershire and Rutland, as well as large capital projects. It does not accept unsolicited applications, instead working through referrals and partnerships.
