Millfield House Foundation

Millfield House Foundation, founded in 1976 by the McClelland family and endowed with shares from Tyneside-based Laws Stores Ltd, is an independent charitable trust dedicated to tackling the root causes of poverty and inequity in North East England. Its mission centers on empowering communities through policy-focused philanthropy, shifting from broad grantmaking to strategic support for evidence-led research, advocacy, and public debate that drives structural change, enhances public participation, and amplifies marginalized voices.
