Sainsbury Centre Endowment Fund

The Fund exclusively supports the core activities of the Sainsbury Centre at UEA in Norwich. This includes the conservation and display of its world-class art collection, special exhibitions, research in art and material culture, public learning programmes, strategic acquisitions, community engagement, and visitor experience enhancements. All funded work advances art education and museum innovation, with national and international reach through partnerships. The Fund also covers operational costs to ensure the Centre's long-term sustainability. Its singular focus is on maintaining and developing this university museum as a national hub for art study and public access.

Grants are made solely to the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, an academic institution. No other organisations, groups, or individuals are eligible to receive funding. The Fund does not accept unsolicited applications; all funding decisions are internal. As a dedicated endowment with a single beneficiary, eligibility is highly restrictive and limited to the Sainsbury Centre at UEA. There are no income thresholds or other criteria applicable to external parties.

The Fund does not support any organisations or individuals outside the University of East Anglia. It does not fund projects, programmes, or activities beyond the Sainsbury Centre's core operations, conservation, exhibitions, research, learning, acquisitions, community engagement, and visitor experience. Unsolicited applications are not accepted, and no external calls for proposals are issued.

The Fund provides ongoing, perpetual support through annual grants from its distributable income, all directed to the Sainsbury Centre. Funding is determined internally by trustees; the Fund does not accept unsolicited approaches. It operates as a purpose-bound endowment with a single beneficiary, focusing on long-term sustainability rather than distributing grants to multiple organisations.
