Sir Harry Pilkington Fund

The Fund supports project and core costs, including staff salaries, financial and debt advice, social inclusion for older people, and resilience-building programmes in health and wellbeing. Its cause areas span health improvement, disability services, poverty relief, and social inclusion. The geographical focus is the Liverpool City Region—Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral—with a particular priority for St Helens. Organisations must demonstrate tangible accountability and a proven track record.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, community interest companies limited by guarantee, or constituted community groups with at least three years' operational history. They must deliver services within the Liverpool City Region. The Fund prioritises organisations that serve people affected by poverty, old age, or ill health. There is no religious restriction on applicants. The Fund favours well-established entities with a clear record of accountability and local impact.

The Fund does not support newly established groups, statutory duties, commercial or political activities, exclusively religious work, or animal- or plant-focused efforts. Capital, emergency, and rolling funding are also excluded.

The Fund supports both project and core costs, including staff salaries. It requires end-of-grant reporting and welcomes unsolicited applications. The Fund distributes investment income and upholds a historic Merseyside-focused ethos for sustainable public benefit.
