Swallowdale Children's Trust

The Trust funds hardship relief and welfare support for children and young people under 25 experiencing poverty, social exclusion, health difficulties, mental health challenges, or complex needs, including families in crisis, those with special educational needs (SEND), and youth facing barriers to development. Supported activities include educational aid, psychosocial interventions, formative opportunities, after-school clubs, youth group programs, one-off support for named children, and community-led outreach. Their work focuses on preventative relief, trauma-informed care, and holistic wellbeing, enabling participation in sports, creative arts, and peer support groups. They focus on economically deprived northwest England communities, particularly Blackpool and the Fylde.

Registered charities and community groups can apply, with a strong focus on grassroots local organisations. The Trust prioritises children and young people under 25, with preference given to orphans as stated in their charitable objects. They favour work in Blackpool and the Fylde area of northwest England, supporting named individuals or small groups where statutory provision is inadequate.

The Trust does not support core funding, unrestricted grants, large capital projects, generalist national programmes, or mainstream statutory services. Work outside their local area is also excluded.

The Trust provides targeted, flexible support for named individuals or small groups, delivered directly or through local partner charities. They welcome unsolicited applications and favour one-off support for urgent needs, as well as small cohort projects for care leavers or families in sudden hardship.
