The Trust funds education and employment projects across the UK. It supports costs including project delivery, salaries, and training. Priority beneficiaries include women, disabled people, refugees, and unemployed adults. All funded activities must lead to at least one accredited vocational qualification for beneficiaries. The Trust also provides direct training grants to unemployed individuals. The focus is on developing essential employability skills, particularly communication abilities like empathy, listening, emotional intelligence, confidence, and clarity, to build resilience and life chances.

UK-registered charities that have been registered for at least three years are eligible to apply. The Trust also offers grants directly to individuals who have been unemployed for at least six months within the last two years. Charities working with women, disabled people, refugees, and unemployed adults are particularly encouraged. There is no religious restriction on applicants. The Trust favours small- to medium-sized charities with an income described qualitatively as modest.

The Trust does not fund capital works. Charities registered for less than three years are ineligible. For individuals, applicants must have been unemployed for at least six months within the last two years. The Trust also excludes political or lobbying activities, healthcare projects, and overseas work.

Grants to charities can be multi-year, up to three years with annual reviews. Priority is given to match-funded projects. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications. Grants to individuals are one-off and cover training costs. The Trust supports project delivery, salaries, and training expenses. It favours evidence-based, collaborative initiatives with proven models and sustainable outcomes, often partnering with local organisations to reduce long-term grant dependency.
