Triangle Trust 1949 Fund

The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund, established in 1949 by Sir Henry Jephcott, is an independent UK grant-making trust that has evolved from supporting Glaxo employees to a sharp, evidence-led focus on reducing reoffending among young people (aged 11–30) already in the criminal justice system (CJS) and preventing first offences for those at high risk. Its core mission tackles youth disadvantage and marginalisation, prioritising projects for young women and girls, while strengthening specialist organisations for sustained, systemic impact. Guided by values of innovation, collaboration, and sustainability, it funds education, employment support, holistic interventions, in-custody programmes, and through-the-gate resettlement, alongside core costs and revenue to build organisational resilience.

It supports UK-registered charities and not-for-profits with annual income under £1 million (main grants) or £50,000 (Small Grants Programme), operating UK-wide with encouragement for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Preference goes to organisations led by and for women/girls or with at least 80% female beneficiaries, targeting direct work with young people involved in or at risk of CJS entry.

Grants range up to £80,000 over two years (£40,000/year maximum) for main programmes and £10,000 one-off for small grants. Unsolicited applications follow a two-stage process (online EOI, then assessment visit with documents) during biannual windows: Spring closes 22 May 2025, Autumn 28 October 2025; Small Grants by 20 October 2025. Exclusions include non-UK work, individuals, capital projects, research, religious promotion, emergencies (unless advertised), or requests exceeding annual income or for organisations with over one year's unrestricted reserves.
