Wellbank Foundation

The Foundation funds project delivery in the areas of education and skills, environment, and sport and recreation. It prioritises projects that have an educational, environmental or sporting benefit and deliver a long lasting impact on the people supported. Work must take place in North East England, with organisations based in Northumberland or Tyne & Wear. The Foundation supports a range of activities including children's education initiatives, youth sports participation, environmental conservation efforts, and broader social inclusion for those with health challenges or barriers to opportunity.

Applicants must be registered charities. The Foundation supports organisations that benefit children, young people, older people, disabled people, unemployed people and homeless people. Charities must be based in Northumberland or Tyne & Wear and deliver work for the benefit of residents of the North East. Individuals are not eligible. The Foundation prefers smaller, locally focused charities showing clear, tangible impact.

The Foundation does not fund core costs, research, faith-based activities, individuals, or retrospective costs. It also does not support projects outside its geographic priorities or cause areas.

The Foundation welcomes unsolicited applications. It funds project delivery and prefers projects that deliver a long lasting impact on the people supported. The Foundation is guided by a family team and values practical, place-based support, with a commitment to enduring grantee partnerships and long-term impact tracking.
