Worcester Municipal Charities (CIO)

Worcester Municipal Charities funds work that addresses poverty, homelessness, and educational disadvantage within its defined area. It supports hardship relief, the provision of essential items, educational support for individuals facing barriers, and homelessness initiatives. The Trust also operates almshouses and affordable housing. All grants are restricted to the City of Worcester, the parishes of Powick, Bransford, and Rushwick, and the area of the Ancient Parish of Leigh in Worcestershire. The Trust funds both individuals and organisations, with a focus on local grassroots charities and frontline partners.

Eligible applicants include registered charities and community groups operating within the defined geographic area. The Trust also supports individuals who are residents of the City of Worcester and the surrounding parishes and who are in need due to poverty, homelessness, or educational disadvantage. The Trust prioritises small to medium-sized local organisations and does not impose a formal income limit.

The Trust does not fund out-of-area projects, large national charities, or general capital appeals. It also does not support activities outside its core mission of alleviating poverty, distress, and hardship.
