Help the Homeless Limited

The funder supports capital projects and equipment purchases that directly benefit homeless people. This includes furnishings, beds, kitchen upgrades, and refurbishments to hostels, night shelters, supported housing, day centres, and communal spaces. The work must serve single homeless people, often those facing additional challenges such as ill health or substance misuse. Grants are available for organisations across the whole of the United Kingdom.

Registered charities in the UK are eligible to apply, with a preference for small, grassroots organisations that work closely with homeless individuals in their communities. The funder prioritises groups that help the most vulnerable people. There is no religious restriction on applicants. Beneficiaries must be homeless people, and the charity must be working wholly or mainly with this group.

The funder does not consider requests for core costs, salaries, or multi-year funding. Computers and IT equipment are also excluded. They cannot fund individuals or projects that do not directly benefit homeless people. Additionally, applications for causes such as poverty or hardship, or community development outside homelessness, are not supported.

Help the Homeless provides one-off capital grants only, with no multi-year funding considered. They welcome unsolicited applications. A minimum two-year gap is required between the receipt of a decision or grant and a further application from the same organisation.
