Invictus Games Foundation

The Foundation supports projects that increase access to sporting opportunities for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans across the twenty-three member nations of the Invictus community, both during the Games and beyond. Funded activity includes adaptive sports events, virtual leagues, adventure challenges, peer support, family involvement and grassroots initiatives. Grants can cover project delivery, equipment, events and training. The focus is on adaptive sport and adventurous challenges that aid recovery, with priority given to work that builds local sporting pathways for veterans and disabled people across all member nations.

Grants are typically awarded to registered charities, community groups and social enterprises that are connected to the Invictus community. The Foundation accepts applications from organisations rather than individuals. It prioritises work led by or involving wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans, as well as disabled people. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how their project increases access to sporting opportunities for these groups. There is no religious restriction on who can apply.

The Foundation does not fund core or unrestricted costs, and does not run open grant rounds. It will not support generic proposals that fall outside its strategic pillars of inspiring through the Games, improving through sports and adventure programmes, and influencing through research and advocacy. Proposals must be connected to the Invictus community and focused on increasing access to sporting opportunities for WIS personnel and veterans.

Funding is primarily by invitation or through established partnerships, rather than open grant rounds. The Foundation does not fund core or unrestricted costs, so support is directed to specific projects within its strategic pillars. It works with registered charities, community groups and social enterprises connected to the Invictus community, and emphasises beneficiary-led impact in the way it deploys funding.
