James Tuttiett Charitable Trust

The Trust prioritises nature conservation, habitat restoration, biodiversity enhancement, environmental education, and community-led projects that enrich the quality of life for residents, particularly in Hampshire. Supported activities include land acquisition, capital projects such as reedbed and mudflat restoration, beaver reintroduction, pollinator corridors, pond and wetland creation, and community orchards. Beneficiaries range from major conservation charities and local wildlife trusts to grassroots groups that blend environmental and social welfare objectives. The Trust focuses its funding on Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, and the South Downs area.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and Hampshire-based community groups. There are no income or turnover limits. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications from organisations with a strong local connection to Hampshire, though national conservation efforts may be considered by strategic invitation. The Trust prioritises groups that combine environmental work with community benefit.

The Trust does not fund core or unrestricted costs, nor projects that fall outside its environmental and community remit. It generally does not support initiatives based outside Hampshire or the South East region.

The Trust practises asset-based philanthropy, enabling step-change interventions such as land acquisition and catalytic partnerships. It funds specific projects rather than core costs and welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations.
