The Trust funds recreation and amenity improvements, such as upgrades to community facilities, bowling greens, and recreation grounds, as well as broader charitable initiatives benefiting residents, including capital and revenue costs for local projects, individual hardship relief, and sporting or recreational activities lacking public support. All funding is strictly focused on Market Weighton and the immediate surrounding area within the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups based strictly in Market Weighton and its immediate surroundings. Small, grassroots entities are preferred, with no formal income thresholds or religious restrictions. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications but advises writing to the trustees for guidance on whether a proposal fits within its hyper-local remit.

The Trust avoids national or wider causes, unrestricted or multi-year funding, and rigid programmes. It prefers proactive, locally attuned investments and does not accept unsolicited applications, instead guiding potential applicants to write to the trustees for initial advice.

Funding is awarded at the trustees' discretion on an ad hoc basis, with no open rounds or formal application process. The Trust prefers one-off project or capital investments over ongoing commitments and does not provide unrestricted or multi-year grants. It works by invitation or after initial correspondence with trustees.
